Another Former Sharks Goalie Goes On NHL Waivers

by admin

Former San Jose Sharks goalie James Reimer was placed on NHL waivers today by the Anaheim Ducks.

With John Gibson back in the fold for Anaheim and Lukas Dostal playing at a Vezina Trophy level, the Ducks don’t need Reimer on their roster. Reimer played just two games for the Ducks and lost both games. He gave up nine goals on 66 shots for a .864 save percentage.

This marks the second day in a row where a former Sharks goalie was put on waivers. Kaapo Kahkonen was re-claimed by the Winnipeg Jets today after the Colorado Avalanche placed him on waivers.

Kahkonen was waived by the Jets earlier in the season and now can be sent directly to their AHL team without going through waivers.

Former Sharks defenseman Matt Benning was waived by the Toronto Maple Leafs yesterday. Today, he went unclaimed and was assigned to Toronto’s American Hockey League team.
