ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles won their third consecutive game on Friday night, 3-2, over the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds. Ryan Reifler ’24 skated in his 100th career game for the Soaring Eagles and opened the scoring with a power-play in the first period.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Reifler’s second goal of the year and 82nd point of his career was set up by Chance Gorman ’24 and Cam Lowe ’28 on the power play. Lowe finished the night with another assist on the game-winning goal, his first two careers points in the Purple & Gold.
With the Soaring Eagles ahead 1-0 after one period, the Thoroughbreads answer came late in the second period by Ethan Heidepriem.
The Thoroughbreads found the back of the net again just :27 into the final frame. Evan Brown scored a power-play goal off a set up from Ryan Waltman and Danny Magnuson.
Three minutes later, Nathan Young ’25 tied the game for the Soaring Eagles off a Thoroughbred turnover.
With the game remaining tied until the dying minutes, Cole Tucker ’25 notched his first goal of the season on the power-play. Shane Haviland ’24 and Lowe registered assists on Tucker’s game-winning tally.
Brody Haynes ’26 was excellent in the crease for the Soaring Eagles again, continuing his dominant play. Haynes denied 33 attempts from the Thoroughbreds on 35 shots while Joshua Seeley finished the game with 16 stops on 19 shots at the other end.

The Soaring Eagles are back at it against the Thoroughbreds tomorrow afternoon to close out the weekend back-to-back. Opening puck drop from the Murray Athletic Center is slated for 5:00 PM.
