Guelph, ON – Storm General Manager George Burnett announced today that goaltender Brayden Gillespie has committed to a Standard Player Agreement with the hockey club.

The 5-foot-11, 160lbs goalie from Oakville, Ontario was selected by Guelph in the 11th round (207th overall) in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

The 2005-born Gillespie has had an excellent start to his 2022-2023 campaign with the Storm’s affiliate club Ayr Centennials. He has recorded a 2.97 goals against average and 0.918 save percentage in 14 games. Gillespie is a product of the GTHL’s North York Rangers U16 and Vaughan Kings U18 programs before joining the Centennials this season.

“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to play for the Guelph Storm,” said Gillespie. “I would like to thank my coaches, teammates, family and friends for all of their support.”

Gillespie made his OHL debut on Sunday, turning aside 21 of 23 shots as the Storm fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Sarnia Sting.
