Since being selected fifth-overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL draft on June 28, the fanbase has tried to find out as much as they can about Ivan Demidov.
One of the newest revelations is that his girlfriend, Ekaterina Yakovleva, runs her own YouTube channel, and the young Russian is often featured in videos. The channel was founded in February and has amassed over 400 subscribers so far, with more to come soon given that the comment section is already filled with supportive messages in Russian, French and English.
The most recent posting shows the couple trying American snacks. Titled: Trying AMERICAN sweets II Sephora unboxing (translated from Russian), the video has racked up roughly 4,000 views. The most popular comments are asking for Demidov to try Quebec based delicacies when he arrives in Montreal, namely, poutine.
It seems as though fans will have to wait for Demidov to land in North America. The most recent news surrounding KHL play showed that the Canadiens front office has spoken with SKA St Petersburg about the phenom’s development, with the plan remaining that he spends the year in the KHL.
In the meantime, apart from watching KHL games, fans can get their Demidov fix watching Yakovleva’s videos.
