The Carolina Hurricanes announced they have assigned defenseman Riley Stillman to their AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves.
Stillman has yet to play this season due to a lower body injury. He signed a one-year contract that pays him $775,000 with the Hurricanes in July.
The 26-year-old spent last season with the Rochester Americans and recorded six points in 47 games.
He last played in the NHL in the 2022-23 season, appearing in 32 games for the Vancouver Canucks and 18 games for the Buffalo Sabres.
In 136 career AHL games Stillman has nine goals and 32 points.
The Chicago Wolves are 3-5-1 through nine games. The team has only scored 14 goals, and while Stillman likely won’t help the team offensively he should help the team keep the puck out of the net.
Stillman would make a good defensive partner for the offensively minded Scott Morrow.
