WINDSOR, ON – The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Carson Woodall to an OHL Standard Player Agreement.
Woodall is a native of Belle River, Ont. and played his U16 AAA year with the Toronto Marlboros before being drafted by the Spitfires in the 10th round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
Since being drafted, Woodall has been playing with the Spitfires affiliate, LaSalle Vipers in the GOJHL.
With the Vipers, Woodall has appeared in 44 games recording 10 goals and 26 assists for 36 points on the backend.
Woodall was selected to play in the 2022 GOJHL Future Stars Game. He was also a part of the GOJHL U-18 team that played in the 39th annual MacPherson Challenge Tournament put on by St. Andrews College and captured the title.
Woodall spoke on signing with the Spitfires.
“It’s been a dream of mine, and it’s my hometown.” Woodall said. “I am super excited.”
Woodall spoke on his development through the teams’ affiliate LaSalle Vipers.
“It’s been amazing playing in Lasalle, I have had a lot of opportunities there.” Woodall said. “It’s nice to be close to Windsor and LaSalle has a great program.”
GM Bill Bowler spoke on Woodall signing to the club.
“Carson has an excellent hockey IQ and has been an elite performer as an ’06 with the LaSalle Vipers.” Bill Bowler said. “He contributes both offensively and defensively with his excellent decision making skills.”
