Chicago Blackhawks Re-Sign Phillips & Crevier to One-Year Contracts

by admin

The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed defensemen Isaak Phillips and Louis Crevier to one-year, two-way deals, the team announced Monday.

Although differing in games played, both players split their time between Chicago and the Rockford IceHogs in 2023-24.

A product of Barrie, Ont., Phillips played in 33 regular season games with Chicago, collecting six assists. With Rockford, Phillips scored four goals and added 10 assists for 14 points in 29 regular season games.

Drafted by the Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Phillips has already played four seasons since turning pro, collecting 71 points in 171 career AHL regular season games.

Crevier, a product of Québec, Que., suited up in 24 games with the Blackhawks during the regular season, putting up three assists. In 41 regular season games with Rockford, he had 11 points.

Standing at a towering 6-foot-8, Crevier was drafted by Chicago in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft. Having made his NHL debut in 2023-24, Crevier just finished his second pro season since wrapping up his junior career.

With both signings, Chicago solidifies their depth on the blue line for 2024-25. While last year was a year full of growing pains, both Phillips and Crevier gained valuable experience which should only continue to help them grow as players.
