Ex-Sabres Forward Scores First Goal With New Team

During this past off-season, the Buffalo Sabres made the big decision to buy out forward Jeff Skinner. It didn’t take him long to find a new home, as he signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers in July.

The Oilers have the potential to be a magnificent landing spot for Skinner, as he has the chance to play with superstars like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. In addition, with Skinner still looking to play his first playoff game in his 15th NHL season, joining a club that made it to the Stanley Cup Final last season just makes sense for the veteran. However, Edmonton has had a very rough start to the season, losing each of their first three games in regulation.

While this is the case, Skinner is starting to make an impact for the Oilers, as he scored his first goal with his new team in the club’s 4-1 loss to the Calgary Flames. It was a nice goal from the skilled winger, who secured a rebound in front and quickly fired it home.

This was a nice goal from the former Sabre. Given the fact that Skinner has scored at least 30 goals in six of his NHL seasons, we should expect to see many more from him in Edmonton from here.
