The NHL gave Skinner his first citation after diving during the Edmonton Oilers’ Oct. 22 matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes, which resulted in a warning. Now, after getting his second citation for breaking NHL Rule 64, he has earned this $2,000 fine.
Skinner’s second citation was for an incident that occurred on Nov. 23 during the Oilers’ game against the New York Rangers.
Skinner, 32, has appeared in 24 games this season with the Oilers, where he has four goals, four assists, and a minus-9 rating. This is after he had 24 goals and 46 points in 74 games last season with the Sabres.
