Flint, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds announced today the hiring of Head Equipment Manager Kameron Bagley for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
“We’re excited to be welcoming Kam to our organization and would also like to thank Brandon (Schroeder) for all his hard work here in Flint,” said General Manager Dave McParlan. “The equipment manager position is a very important one for any team and we believe that Kam brings in the experience and work ethic needed that will help him be a great addition to our organization.”
Bagley had been the Assistant Equipment for the Windsor Spitfires since 2013. In his time with the Spits, the team won the 2017 Memorial Cup and 2022 Wayne Gretzky Trophy as Western Conference Champions.
“I’m very much looking forward to this opportunity in Flint,” Bagley said. “After spending so much time in Windsor, it’s going to be a transition but I’m looking forward to getting my feet under me.”
Bagley was originally from Windsor, Ont. before he moved to Virginia Beach, Va. where he attended high school. He went on to attend St. Clair College in Windsor where he graduated in 2013 and took the job with the Spitfires.
“I really want to thank Bill Bowler and J.R. Grant for my time in Windsor,” said Bagley. “J.R.’s been my best friend since we were three and he is like a brother to me. I can’t say enough good things about the organization and everyone involved.”
Notable players that Bagley worked with during his time in Windsor include Logan Brown (St. Louis Blues), Wyatt Johnston (Dallas Stars), Mikhail Sergachev (Tampa Bay Lightning), Gabe Vilardi (LA Kings), and Logan Stanley (Winnipeg Jets).
“I’d like to thank Rolf, Dave, and Ted for this opportunity,” Bagley added. “I’ve spent a lot of time in Flint during my tenure with the Spitfires. I’m very excited to now be working at such a first-class facility in the Dort Financial Center as well as excited to be a part of the atmosphere that the fans bring.”
