MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) released its end-of-the-year awards on Thursday afternoon with the Elmira College women’s ice hockey program garnering five all-conference selections.
Erika Goleniak ’25 and Madi Morton ’24 each received All-NEHC First Team honors, while Claire Meeder ’23 was named to the Second Team, Lexi Hoffmann ’24 to the Third Team, and Anna Lugge ’27 to the All-Rookie Team.
A native of Canton, Michigan, this is the first All-NEHC recognition for Goleniak, who paced the Soaring Eagles throughout the regular season with 12 goals, 15 assists, and 27 points through 25 games played. Goleniak tallied 21 of those points (10 goals, 11 assists) through 18 conference games.
Goleniak currently ranks second in the conference in overall points, fourth in assists, and fifth in goals. Across Division III, she ranks 44th in assists per game, 43rd in goals per game, and 28th in points per game.
Morton, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, earned her second consecutive All-NEHC First Team honor along with it being her third overall All-NEHC selection. Morton paced all Elmira defenders with 17 points through 25 games played to go along with a +18 plus/minus rating.
Morton tallied three goals and 10 assists through 18 conference games as each of her three goals came on the power play. Her three power play tallies currently rank 43rd in NCAA Division III while she has helped the Purple & Gold to the fifth-best scoring defense this season at 0.96 goals per game.
Meeder earned her second All-NEHC selection after garnering Third Team honors last season for the Soaring Eagles. The Woodbury, Minnesota native has tallied 22 points through 25 games this season as a fifth-year skater for the Purple & Gold. Her 10 goals rank second on the team while her 12 assists rank third.
Through 18 conference games this season, Meeder has tallied seven goals and 12 assists for a total of 19 points. Her 22 points rank fifth in the conference, while nationally she ranks seventh in short-handed goals and 40th in faceoff wins (231).
The All-NEHC Third Team selection is the second straight for Hoffmann after the Bellmore, New York native paced the Purple & Gold on defense with a +27 plus/minus rating to go along with a career-best seven points.
Hoffmann finished the regular season with the second-highest plus/minus rating in the conference and improved her career plus/minus to +87 for the Purple & Gold. She has helped the Purple & Gold to the fifth-best scoring defense at 0.96 goals per game and 19th-ranked penalty kill percentage (92%) this season.
A first-year skater hailing from Freeburg, Illinois, Lugge made her presence felt early for the Soaring Eagles as she finished the regular season third on the team in points (19) while tallying eight goals and 11 assists through 25 games.
Lugge netted a pair of game-winning goals for the Purple & Gold and tallied 16 points in conference play while opening the scoring three different times throughout the season. Her game-winning goals would come against UMass Boston on December 2nd and Castleton on January 5th. She also ranks third in the conference this season with a +23 plus/minus rating.
