Former New Jersey Devils forward and one of hockey’s greatest players of all time, Jaromir Jagr, has announced that he is going to retire after the 2024-25 season.
Jaromir Jagr will play his final season of professional hockey this year for Kladno of the Czech league, per his agent.

Jagr, 52, will become 53 before the 2024-25 Czechia season ends. He currently plays for Rytíři Kladno of the Czech Extraliga, which he is also the owner of.
Jagr played for the Devils from 2013-2015 and scored 35 goals, 61 assists, for 96 points in 139 games. In his career, he played in 1,733 NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, and Calgary Flames. In those 1,733 games, he had 766 goals, 1,155 assists, and 1,921 total points.
He is also a two-time Stanley Cup winner, an NHL All-Rookie in 1990-91, a five-time Art Ross winner, an eight-time All-Star, the Hart Trophy winner in 1998-99, a three-time Ted Lindsay winner, the 2015-16 Bill Masterton winner, and was named to the NHL 100 greatest players list.

There is no doubt that Jagr is a Hockey Hall of Famer, but the question is, will they waive the four-year wait period after such a great career?
They should, but only time will tell.
