Former Sabres Goaltender Signs With New Team

Former Buffalo Sabres goalie Malcolm Subban has a found new home, as he has signed a one-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Belleville Senators.

Subban, 30, spent the majority of this past season down in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds and Cleveland Monsters. In 35 games split between the two AHL teams, he had an 11-17-4 record, a 3.12 goals-against average (GAA), and a .901 save percentage (SV%). He also made one NHL appearance with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Subban played four of his career NHL games with the Sabres during the 2021-22 season. He had a 0-2-1 record, a .871 SV%, and a 4.85 GAA during them. He also played the 2022-23 season with the Rochester Americans, where he had a 20-14-5 record, a .903 SV%, and a 2.94 GAA.

Subban also did a great job singing the National Anthem in the Sabres’ 2021-22 season finale against the Chicago Blackhawks.
