The NHL offseason is officially here, and with that comes a flurry of rumours and speculation.
Rest assured, the next month is going to be mayhem, especially with respect to our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.
I kicked off the Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take by addressing the offseason and what it may look like from a league-wide perspective. Obviously, our eyes are on the Maple Leafs, but there could be a lot of fireworks this summer out West in Winnipeg and Calgary. By the minute, the landscape and power dynamic around the league is shifting. Suddenly, everyone thinks they’re Matthew Tkachuk.
After breaking all that down, Jay Rosehill stopped by for another 3 Hits segment. For this one, he dished on what pissed him off about this year’s Stanley Cup celebration. Only Rosey would take issue with something like that, but that’s why we love him. He always brings the heat.
Meantime, as mentioned, it’s silly season in the NHL, so today’s guest was a perfect one. I summoned NHL Insider and Director of Hockey Content for Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli, to dish on the very latest in LeafsNation. We talked Sheldon Keefe, Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Luke Schenn, among other hot button topics. Suffice it is to say, there’s a lot happening at the moment. MUST LISTEN.
For the Betano Wrap Up, I took a different approach today looking at the 2024 Stanley Cup odds. Early on, the Leafs are tied with Edmonton for the second lowest odds (+1100) to go all the way next season. Oh boy.
Join me on Friday at 11 AM ET as the Director of Goaltending for the Cup winning Vegas Golden Knights, Sean Burke, drops by to dissect what I’m sure has been an amazing last few days for him.
