The Vegas Golden Knights have placed Raphael Lavoie on waivers, 24 hours after claiming him from the Edmonton Oilers.
The Golden Knights placed claims on both Lavoie and Cole Schwidnt and were successful with both. The Golden Knights announced their opening night roster earlier this morning with Lavoie named.
The Golden Knights will of course be hoping the 24-year-old clears waivers and can join the Henderson Silver Knights. Whether he clears or not, the plan seems to be to call up Brendan Brisson and have him play on opening night.
No word has confirmed this claim but this seems to be the most logical plan with William Karlsson on the IR.

If Lavoie does clear waivers he will be a key contributor for the Silver Knights and will have a great opportunity to show his offensive skill set. If he can perform as he did last season with the Oilers farm team, the Bakersfield Condors, Lavoie will likely earn himself a call-up at some point during the season. If he continues to refine his offensive game and improve defensively, he can be a key contributor for the Golden Knights at some point, but first, he must clear waivers.
