Niagara, Ont. – The Niagara IceDogs have announced the hiring of former NHL Goalie, Adam Munro as Director of Goaltending.
The 40-year-old, St George, Ont. native spent his minor hockey career playing in Brantford, with his goaltending career kicking-off after being drafted 58th overall by the Erie Otters in the 1998 OHL Priority Selection. After a stellar 2000-01 season with the Otters (26-6-6, 2.31 GAA, .926 SV%, 4 SO), Munro was drafted in the first round (29th overall) to the NHL by the Chicago Blackhawks. Munro went on to win an OHL Championship with Erie in 2001-2002.
Munro would go on to play six seasons in the Chicago Blackhawks organization, spending two seasons in the NHL and a total of 13 seasons in professional hockey across the NHL, AHL, KHL, as well as playing in Switzerland and Austria. He would also have the opportunity to don the Team Canada jersey at the Spengler Cup and Deutschland Cup in 2006-2007.

Munro also provides a variety of coaching experience, spending three seasons as Head of Goalie Development for the Mississauga Reps of the GTHL from 2017-2020. He was then hired as the Goalie Coach for the York University Lions in the OUA, where he has spent the last two seasons. During the 2022-2023 OUA season, Munro helped coached the Lions to a combined save percentage of .912%.
