The Islanders bolstered their attack Tuesday, acquiring forward Pierre Engvall from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a 2024 third-round draft pick.

The 26-year-old should help New York’s offense as it looks to try and make a final push for the playoffs. In 58 games this season, Engvall has 21 points, including 12 goals and nine assists.

Meanwhile, the Islanders currently rank 18th this season with 183 goals scored but are 31-25-7 on the season, good for fourth in the Metropolitan Division behind the Rangers, Devils and Bruins.

Drafted in the seventh round by Toronto in 2014, the Sweden native has played in 226 regular season games in his career and has 83 points (42 goals, 41 assists). He’s added four assists in 17 career playoff games.
