Jason Robertson is on a tear in his first 13 games this season for the Dallas Stars.
The 23-year-old left winger ranks sixth in the NHL in points with 19, and he’s only averaging 16:43 minutes of ice time. The players Robertson’s tied with at 19 points – Erik Karlsson, Artemi Panarin and Nathan MacKinnon – all average more than 20 minutes per game.
Robertson missed some pre-season and training camp action this fall before the restricted free agent signed a four-year contract worth $7.75 million per season with the Stars in early October. Despite this, he now averages more than a point per game in his career, with 144 points in 141 games.
Ryan Kennedy and Mike Stephens broke down his success this season and what it says about the Dallas Stars and their prospect development on the Nov. 8 episode of The Hockey News Podcast. With Wyatt Johnston being the Stars’ latest prospect shining in the NHL, could he be allowed to play for Team Canada at the World Junior Championship?
