No rest for the big boys.
Just 48 hours after Team Matthews took down Team McDavid to win the 2024 NHL All-Star Game, the Leafs will host the New York Islanders on Monday night at Scotiabank Arena.
Mercifully, the eight-day break is over. All in all, it will be fascinating to see how the team looks – especially Matthews, Marner, Nylander, and Nylander – after the busy weekend they just had.
Thanks to our friends over at Seagram’s, who supplied the Whisky VO Studio for us on Thursday and Friday at SponsorshipX, we kicked off the Monday edition of Leafs Morning Take by offering up a simple status check following a crazy past few days. Meantime, thanks to the Wendy’s Daily Faceoff Survivor, we previewed Leafs/Islanders. For what it’s worth it, both teams had identical eight-day layoffs. Ilya Samsonov will take on Ilya Sorokin.
Anthony Stewart will fill in for Jay Rosehill on the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take. Join us at 11 AM ET as we recap Leafs/Isles plus look ahead to the rest of the week for the Maple Leafs.
