The Leafs dominance of the New Jersey Devils continues.
What a night in Newark.
Auston Matthews’ PP tally with less than three minutes remaining in regulation stood as the game winner as Toronto grabbed a gutsy 4-3 victory and walked away with a 3-2-0 five-game road trip.
And that’s where the conversation got underway on the Wednesday edition of Leafs Morning Take. The odds were stacked against Sheldon Keefe’s squad once again and they found a way to persevere. I was really impressed.

Meantime, powered by our friends over PointsBet Canada, 2018 Stanley Cup Champion Devante Smith-Pelly stopped by for a chat. We looked back at that epic run, plus we polled Devo on if he thinks the Leafs have what it takes to finally get over that postseason hump.
Be sure to join us on Thursday at 11 AM ET. Former Leaf turned NHL head coach Travis Green will drop by. We’ll get his thoughts on this current team, and also look back at the Pat Quinn era. What a time to be alive!
