Manchester Storm forward Ciaran Long admits the goal of being included in the Great Britain World Championship squad is a big incentive for him in the Elite Series.
The 30-year-old has enjoyed a great start to the competition, bagging four goals and an assist in Stormâs first three games.
And, after missing out on the Worlds in Slovakia two years ago, heâs determined to be at the forefront of national coach Pete Russellâs thoughts this time around.
âThis competition is a massive incentive for me to try and get into the GB team for the World Championships,â Long, a guest on this weekâs BIH Show, said.
âAs Iâve said before, itâs one of the biggest dreams to play for your country and I donât think it would be any prouder for the chance to do that.
âAll I can do is work as hard as I can and put up some numbers and see what happens. Itâs all I can do.
âItâs a big driver for me and with Covid â plus I know quite a few guys went abroad â itâs made it a more level playing field for us all.
âIf itâs anything to go by, you would presume players on form would be looked at so all I can do is hopefully keep my run going and see where we are by the end of it.â
