The Nashville Predators have re-signed defenseman Spencer Stastney to a two-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
In 2024-25, Stastney’s contract is a two-way which will see him make $825,000 at the NHL level and $400,000 at the AHL level. In the second year of his contract, it’s a one-way deal that will see him make $825,000 at the NHL level.
A product of Woodbridge, Ill., Stastney split this past season between the Predators and Milwaukee Admirals. In 20 games with Nashville, he collected four points. With Milwaukee, he scored five goals and added 15 assists for 20 points in 44 regular season games.
Drafted by the Predators in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Stastney turned pro at the end of the 2021-22 season after four years at Notre Dame (NCAA).
Since turning pro, Stastney has seen 28 career NHL regular season games and has collected six points.
As Stastney re-ups with the Predators for the next two seasons, he has a strong chance of being an NHL regular as soon as the season opens. He has proven to be a reliable contributor at the AHL level and is ready for full-time NHL duty.
