The OHL is saddened by news of the loss of former Hamilton Steelhawks, Belleville Bulls and Oshawa Generals forward Jim Buwalda, who passed away last Wednesday at the age of 58.

A native of Dunnville, Ont., Buwalda played two OHL seasons from 1984-86, recording 13 goals, 27 assists and 40 points over 97 regular season games. He helped the Steelhawks reach the Emms Division Final in 1985 before they fell to the eventual league champion Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Prior to playing in the OHL, Buwalda was a standout for the Dunnville Terriers Jr. C program, helping them win a Schmalz Cup title in 1983.
