Ottawa Senators Recall Zack Ostapchuk

by admin

The Ottawa Senators have recalled forward Zach Ostapchuk from the Belleville Senators, it was announced Monday.

A 2021 second round pick of the Senators, Ostapchuk has seen time in both the NHL and AHL this season, collecting an assist in six games with Ottawa and one goal and eight points in nine games with Belleville.

With this being his second pro season, Ostapchuk has seen a total of 13 NHL regular season games, with the assist this season being his only NHL point. Ostapchuk has shown well in the AHL, putting up 36 points in 78 regular season games over parts of two seasons.

With Ostapchuk getting recalled to Ottawa again, he should have the opportunity to slot into the lineup and gain more experience. Someone who is not afraid to play a physical, hard-nosed game, Ostapchuk has shown well in the NHL games he’s gotten into and should be able to grab a role with Ottawa full-time in the not so distant future.
