Flyers goalie prospect Carson Bjarnason has been re-assigned to the Brandon Wheat Kings, as announced by the WHL club.
With Bjarnason being a 19-year-old goalie prospect, his return to the Wheat Kings was expected. The promising youngster will now continue working on his development with the Wheat Kings from here.
The Flyers selected Bjarnason with the 51st overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. In 46 appearances for the Wheat Kings last season, he posted a 24-17-4 record, a .907 save percentage (SV%), and a 3.01 goals-against average (GAA).
Bjarnason played in the Flyers’ pre-season opener against the Washington Capitals on Sunday (Sept. 22). He left a solid impression in the process, saving all nine shots he faced. The future is bright for the 6-foot-3 goalie, and seeing how well he performs for the Wheat Kings this season from here will be intriguing.
