PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – The Elmira College men’s ice hockey team would find itself in an early 2-0 deficit against the #1 nationally-ranked Statesmen from Hobart College on Friday evening, as the visiting team went on to take the matchup 7-2 inside the Murray Athletic Center.

After surrendering an early pair of goals in the first five minutes of play, the Soaring Eagles would answer back to trim the deficit in half going into the second on a goal from Janis Vizbelis ’24, but five unanswered goals in the second period from the Statesmen would prove to be the difference.

Both of Elmira’s tallies on the evening would come from Vizbelis, while Daniel Dimon ’24, Amedeo Mastrangeli ’24, Shawn Kennedy ’24, and Nicholas Domitrovic ’24 would all earn assists on the evening.
