PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – The Elmira College men’s ice hockey team would see a pair of third period goals off the sticks of Cole Tucker ’25 and Kerfalla Toure ’26, erasing a two-goal deficit in the final period of play before an eventual scoreless overtime sent both teams away with a 4-4 tie on Friday evening at the Murray Athletic Center.

It was a night of goals in pairs, as Southern Maine took a 2-0 lead in the first period, before two second period goals for Elmira knotted the game at 2-2. From there, goals in the final five minutes from the Huskies sent the visitors to the locker room ahead 4-2 before Tucker and Toure found the back of the net to tie the game in the third.

Kyle Curtin ’26 would finish the contest with 24 saves in net, allowing four goals, while Husky netminder Mason Palmer finished with 38 saves and four goals allowed.

  • After EC went quiet in the first, the Soaring Eagles would open the scoring on their end just under six minutes into the second period as Shawn Kennedy ’24 found his way past Palmer on an assist from Ryan Reifler ’24 to trim its lead in half. From there, the Soaring Eagles would score yet again, 26 seconds later, as Janis Vizbelis ’24 scored on assists from Bailey Krawczyk ’24 and Nicholas Domitrovic ’24. Schwindt would also be credited with yet another assist, as at the 9:30 mark in the period Tucker would find the back of the net to tie the game, assisted also by Domitrovic.
