The Ryerson Rams men’s hockey program announced recently on Twitter (@RyersonRamsMHKY) that Windsor Spitfires defenceman Joseph Rupoli will be hitting the ice in the fall.

A 6-foot-4, 215Ib., 20-year-old blueliner from Oakville, Ont., Rupoli split the 2019-20 season between the Spitfires and the Kitchener Rangers, recording an assist over 42 games. He started his OHL career with the Oshawa Generals after being a fifth round pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. Over three seasons he registered five assists in 102 regular season matchups.

With a high school grade average over 90% each year, Rupoli was the recipient of multiple academic awards at Kings Christian Collegiate. He will be enrolling in Ryerson’s Business Management program.

“I chose Ryerson because I believe that it will give me the best opportunity to excel on the ice and in the classroom,” said Rupoli of his decision. “I still have a lot to prove and can’t wait to get started with the Ryerson hockey program. It is a great fit for me and I believe it will give me the best opportunity to further develop my skills and grow as a person.”

Rupoli is also familiar with many current Rams players, having been teammates with Cole Resnick, Domenico Commisso, Hayden McCool, and Kyle Bollers with the Generals.
