Sting announce additions to Hockey Operations StaffSarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced renewals and additions to the Club’s Hockey Operations Department this morning, including the renewal of NHL alumni Michael Haley and Dustin Jeffrey who return to the bench this season as assistant coaches.
Seca adds:
“Micheal Haley and Dustin Jeffrey have officially signed on for another season with the hockey club. Both coaches bring the player development experience, tactical and technical strengths and most importantly are excellent communicators who are proud to make Sarnia their home.”
Seca also announced the promotion of Mark Fillipone to Head Scout.
“Mark has been the lead talent evaluator for the Sting for many years, he has been integral in the drafts of Jordan Kyrou, Jacob Chychrun, Jamieson Rees, Porter Martone and most recently Alessandro Di Iorio. This promotion recognizes Mark’s ability to analyze talent and lead a scouting staff.”
Mark resides in the GTA and will be responsible for player evaluation for all draft eligibles and oversee the teams drafting vision to the scouting department.
Seca also announced the addition of Matt Hogan, who will now act as Director of Player Personnel.
“Matt joins the Sting from the Windsor Spitfires, where he’s been an area scout for the last 10 seasons. He’s a Sting alumni and someone who’s well respected as a minor hockey coach and talent evaluator” shares Seca, “Matt will assist the GM and scouting department with player evaluation. We welcome Matt and the Hogan family to Sarnia.”
Additionally joining the team this season will be OHL alumni Kaden Fulcher, taking on the role of Assistant Goalie Coach. Fulcher will assist current Goalie Coach Franky Palazzese. Kaden, who is also a Sting alum, recently retired from professional hockey and will make Sarnia-Lambton his home while supporting the Stings young and promising goaltenders.
Ayden Letang also joins the Sting staff in an official role after having been a volunteer scout and video coach for the previous two seasons. As Assistant Coach of Player Development his main focus will be on player development strategies and supporting the coaching staff.
Lastly, the team welcomes Assistant Equipment Manager Kaden Babcock. Kaden will join the hockey club as an assistant to Head Equipment Manager Dawson Young. With his background playing in the Lambton AAA program combined with his passion for the sport and experience around equipment the team is a great fit for the culture we’re trying to continue growing.
