The Chicago Blackhawks finished in 31st place in the NHL last season with a 23-53-6 record that set a franchise record for losses.

But thanks to fan interest in Calder Trophy winner Connor Bedard and expected improvement after a free agent signings, the Blackhawks will appear on U.S. national telecasts on ESPN and TNT 15 times in the 2024-25.

ESPN will broadcast the Blackhawks 2024-25 opener and first regular-season NHL game from Salt Lake City when they meet the Utah Hockey Club on Oct. 8. Still unnamed, the Utah team relocated from Arizona.

Chicago’s 2023-24 season opener — and NHL Bedard’s debut — against the Penguins and Sidney Crosby in Pittsburgh also was televised nationally.

The Blackhawks regular-season local broadcast schedule on the new regional Chicago Sports Network will be announced later. Chicago Sports Network will carry Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox games after NBC Sports Chicago shuts down at the end of September.
