At last, we’ve reached the final day of October.
Happy Halloween! Hopefully nothing spooky goes down on Thursday night at Scotiabank Arena.
As per usual, to get the blood flowing, we kicked off the Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take by touching on a variety of different topics. Firstly, we touched on the Los Angeles Dodgers winning the World Series. Then, after that, we dissected some of the costumes coming out of the Leafs’ party on Tuesday night. Spoiler alert: Very underwhelming. Sadly, that was Timothy Liljegren’s final team function as a Leaf. Rosey weighed in on the trade that saw the blue liner shipped off to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night.
Brought to you by Square, we offered up a full game preview of Leafs/Kraken. Joseph Woll will make his second start of the season, and it looks like Nick Robertson will draw back into the lineup. Additionally, it sounds like Jani Hakanpaa is getting “very close.” Furthermore, it would make a lot of sense to see him get a bit of a conditioning stint in the AHL before ultimately making his Leafs debut. I’m looking forward to seeing him play.
Next up, we played another edition of Take It or Leaf It. In summary, we debated whether the Leafs will regret trading Liljegren one day, Fraser Minten’s chances of cracking the Game 1 playoff roster, and if the Leafs power play will find a way to finish top 10 in the NHL this season.
Lastly, we answered the Great Clips inbox question of the week. It was about Nick Robertson and if we think his days are numbered in Toronto. For what it’s worth, Rosey and I differed in opinion on the topic.
Plenty to discuss on the Friday edition of Leafs Morning Take (11 AM ET). We’ll recap Leafs/Kraken plus look ahead to the back-to-back this weekend in St. Louis and Minnesota, respectively.
