ELMIRA, N.Y. — The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced its Division III Women’s CCM/AHCA Coach of the Year Finalists on Monday afternoon, with six-year head coach Tim Crowley making the list of ten finalists.Â
Crowley, a native of Brasher Falls, New York, guided the Soaring Eagles to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals with a 25-2-1 overall record. Additionally, Crowley helped Elmira secure its first-ever New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) regular-season title and NEHC Tournament Championship in the programs’ first year in the conference this season. The 25 wins this season are tied for second-most in a single season in program history and the first 25-win season since the 2017-18 campaign.
Â
Elmira opened the 2021-22 campaign with seven consecutive wins and was victorious in eight of its first nine contests. The Soaring Eagles recorded their first ranked victory of the season against No. 1 Plattsburgh at the Panther/Cardinal Classic on Nov. 28. The Elmira women earned five wins against nationally-ranked opposition throughout the year and will head into the final portion of the season with a 5-2-1 record against ranked opponents. Under Crowley’s direction, Eliza Beaudin was named NEHC Player of the Year, while six players total garnered NEHC all-conference accolades.  Â
In addition, Crowley picked up the 100th win of his Soaring Eagle career against Salem State on November 5, 2021. Just three games later, Crowley became the all-time winningest coach in program history with a 10-0 defeat of the Herons from William Smith (Nov. 13, 2021), passing Paul Nemetz-Carlson’s previous record of 102.Â
The Soaring Eagles will take on the Panthers from Middlebury College this Friday in the NCAA Division III Semifinals hosted by Middlebury.Â
