Chel players are we getting excited? We recently got the first official trailer for NHL 25 unveiling the three Hughes brothers as this year’s cover athlete(s). But, EA Sports dropped another bit of information for their player base to get excited about.

Via their Twitter/X, EA Sports unveiled their content release schedule where the team will talk and go more in-depth into what’s new and what’s changed in NHL 25.

Their roadmap brings content until the game’s early access date Sep. 27. The game’s official release date is Oct. 4. This is the first year in history that chel players can play the game seven days early before the game officially releases.

While it is not confirmed, we can expect their deep dives about what’s new in NHL 25 to be on their official YouTube channel, which can be found here.

The first order of business is looking at the new gameplay, which we are scheduled to get in late August.

NHL 25 is powered by ICE-Q, a new gameplay intelligence system that lets you control every inch of the ice. The next-gen vision control allows players to walk the blueline, square up to the puck carrier, stay locked on goal, and much more.

There are also new reactive action animations and empowered AI to make skaters more responsive in crucial situations and more reliable during plays.

Additionally, one-timers are experiencing a change or addition called “Skill Based One-Timers.” We will have to wait and see how to utilize this to its full advantage, but one-timers could make a triumphant return in NHL 25.

Next, in early to mid-September, the development team will showcase their updated Franchise Mode and Presentation.

The Presentation aspect we assume will showcase their introduction of Sapien Technology to the NHL franchise to create more lifelike in-game models.

Franchise Mode’s main hub is expected to change, along with a better navigational system to give players easy-to-digest information.

Late September will give us a Hughes brothers faceoff and a HUT breakdown. So, place your bets now on who you think is the best chel player between Quinn, Jack, and Luke.

HUT is the NHL franchise’s money maker and where most of their player base spends their time. We’re expecting them to announce a new game mode within HUT called “Wildcard Mode” along with a better XP and HUT rewards progression path.

Which deep dive are you looking forward to the most? Personally, the new ICE-Q and skating mechanics have me extremely intrigued by how that will play out in-game and its impact offensively and defensively.
