GORHAM, ME – Despite recording 38 shots on goal in the contest, the No. 12 Elmira College women’s ice hockey program dropped a 1-0 decision on Friday against the Southern Maine Huskies in NEHC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Soaring Eagles would successfully kill three Southern Maine power play opportunities in the first period, while the Huskies recorded what would stand as the eventual game-winning goal 4:33 into the contest.
- Elmira would get a pair of chances on the power play in the second period as the Huskies would head to the penalty box at the 7:00 mark. Despite tallying five shots on goal, the Purple & Gold would not be able to find the back of the net.
- The Huskies would also be called for a penalty at the 18:29 mark of the second period and would once again keep the Soaring Eagles off the scoreboard.
- Elmira would get a fourth opportunity on the power play at the 5:55 mark of the third period and tallied four shots before the Huskies would return to even strength.
- Chloe Beaubien ’23 suffered her first regulation loss of the season between the pipes for the Purple & Gold as she made 13 saves on 14 shots. Southern Maine goalkeeper Haley McKim stopped all 38 shots she faced, including 19 in the third period as the Soaring Eagles looked for the equalizer.
