ELMIRA, N.Y. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with forward Gaby Matson ’28 earning Rookie of the Week accolades for Women’s Ice Hockey.
The Raleigh, North Carolina native notched two goals and two assists for the Soaring Eagles in two wins over the weekend against Salem State University.
Matson was a +5 through both games for the Purple & Gold as she recorded one assist in Friday’s 5-0 victory against the Vikings and followed with two goals and one assist in Saturday’s 8-0 win for Elmira.
The NEHC also recognized Erika Goleniak from Elmira as the Player of the Week and Leocadia Clark from Norwich as the Goaltender of the Week.
Elmira closes the month with a non-conference matchup against SUNY Cortland at the Murray Athletic Center on Tuesday, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
