Attack sign Import selection Max BleicherThe Owen Sound Attack want to extend an excited and warm welcome to Max Bleicher, as he signs his Standard Player Agreement with the Attack for the 2024-25 hockey season.
Bleicher stated he is ‘more than excited’ to join the Attack, as he looks forward to meeting everyone and living in another Country.
“First of all I want to thank everyone who supported me achieving something only a few players accomplished: playing pro with my Hometown Team in Füssen. Without the EV Füssen and its incredible fans, I wouldn’t be in the situation I am now – signing with the Owen Sound Attack and making the biggest step of my life so far. The smaller arena and a different language will be something I want to adapt to quickly.”
Bleicher first came to the Attack as a draft in the 2024 Import Draft as a First Round Pick, 20th overall. Hailing from Füssen, Germany, Bleicher stands at 6’0″ feet and 181 lbs.
Attack General Manager, Dale DeGray, says he’s excited to welcome Bleicher into the Attack.
“The Attack are pleased to announce that we’ve been able to sign our First Round European selection, Max Bleicher. He is a solid two-way who has played against men all last year and earned himself Rookie of the Year Award. We are looking forward to seeing Max in an Attack jersey this September.”
Bleicher not only ramps up to join the Attack, but is also in the midst of playing for Team Germany in the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
Bleicher says he believes that they have a good core group formed for the Cup.
“The Hlinka Gretzky Cup is a big deal for all of us. Four of us already participated last season in Breclav, Chezia…With not much preperation time we want to share our experiences and lead the team by example to be able to compete with every opponent over the full 60 minutes.”
