Owen Sound, ON – The Attack in partnership with Grey Bruce Hospice Inc. have been able to raise a combined $60,000.00 through initiatives, donations, and game night fundraising at the February 18th ‘Hockey for Hospice’ Charity game night.
“The fundraising team involved with the Hospice should take a lot of pride in the work and effort they put in to make this whole event successful”, said Attack Community Relations Coordinator Evan Longland, “The entire process from the charity selection in the summer to the game night and all the surrounding events were professional and seamlessly organized, we couldn’t ask for a better or more meaningful partner to support in our second charity game night this season.”
“The success of Hockey for Hospice goes to show the incredible support both the Attack and Grey Bruce Hospice Inc. have from our local community. Without the support of our fans and all those that chipped in as volunteers or by reaching into their pockets we would not be able to look back on Charity nights like this as the overwhelming success that they were.”
The Attack and Grey Bruce Hospice had several money raising events surrounding the game including a game-worn jersey auction, a successful celebrity serve at East Side Mario’s in Owen Sound, and a replica jersey pre-order.
A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors and partners for Hockey for Hospice including our title sponsor Gay Lea Foods Cooperative, Dairy Producers of Grey-Bruce, Huron Tractor, Smith & Hladil Home Hardware in Owen Sound, Bayshore Broadcasting, Chapman’s Ice Cream and the countless others that provided silent auction items and supported the efforts.
“We are overwhelmed by this generous show of support from everyone who helped make Hockey for Hospice such a wonderful event. The funds raised will go directly to caring for our friends and neighbours from all over Grey-Bruce during their stay at Chapman House. The belief in our mission that has been shown by the hockey fans, sponsors, donors, and the Attack organization demonstrates that hospice palliative care is needed and valued by all in Grey and Bruce, and for that we are very, very grateful,” shared Janet Fairbridge, Executive Director of Grey Bruce Hospice.
Attack fans and Grey Bruce Hospice supporters will want to keep an eye out on both the Attack and Hospice social media feeds for an upcoming announcement about another Hockey for Hospice replica jersey order. By popular demand, Grey Bruce Hospice will be taking orders from those that missed out on the chance to secure their own personalized replica jersey in the Hockey for Hospice design. Full details will be at https://www.greybrucehospice.com/ once available.
