The New York Islanders have relieved Barry Trotz as head coach after four seasons.
Trotz, who joined the Islanders after winning the 2018 Stanley Cup with Washington, led the team to three playoff runs, but struggled this season in a year plagued by COVID-19 and injuries.
A two-time Jack Adams award winner, Trotz had a 152-10-34 record over three seasons with the Islanders, and has a 914-670-168 record in 1,812 career NHL games.
