The Colorado Avalanche are off to the third round of the Stanley Cup playoffs after beating the St. Louis Blues in six games.
The Avalanche won Game 6 by a score of 3-2. The Blues had a 2-1 lead until the third, J.T. Compher scored at 10:18 to tie the game, and Darren Helm scored with six seconds left to win the game, marking one of the biggest goals for the 35-year-old pending UFA.
The Avalanche have the best playoff record with an 8-1 run after sweeping the Nashville Predators in Game 1. This is Colorado’s first trip to the Western Conference final since 2002, a year after beating the New Jersey Devils for the Stanley Cup.
Colorado will play Edmonton in Game 1 on Tuesday.
