One of the better goaltending stories from the 2021-22 season will stay alive for 2022-23.
Craig Anderson, 41, has signed a one-year deal to remain in Buffalo, holding a value of $1.5 million — an increase from his $750,000 deal last year.
Anderson posted a 17-12-12 record, highlighted by a win at the Heritage Classic near the end of the regular season. Anderson was the oldest goalie in the league last year, having been drafted by Calgary back in 1999. Anderson has played for six teams in his career, most notably as a starter with Ottawa and Colorado.
Anderson was part of a goalie carousel in Buffalo that was plagued by injuries. Keeping Anderson around will give him the opportunity to work with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, one of Buffalo’s most promising goaltending prospects.
