The New Jersey Devils have made their first round of training camps.
Typically, the first cuts at an NHL training camp are the players who are being sent back to the CHL, this is the case for the Devils cut today.
The Devils have cut the following four players:
– Forward Cole Brown has been assigned to Brantford (Ontario Hockey League)
– Forward Kasper Pikkarainen has been assigned to Red Deer (Western Hockey League).
– Goaltender Zach Pelletier has been released from his amateur tryout contracts (ATO)
– Defenseman Spencer Sova has been released from his amateur tryout contracts (ATO)
Pelletier and Sova will remain as free agents since they were only at camp on a ATO.
The Devils’ roster has now been cut down to 64 players. 37 forwards, 19 defensemen, and seven goaltenders.
