MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with forward Emma Bradbury ’26 earning Rookie of the Week accolades for Women’s Ice Hockey.
The Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia native notched her first multi-goal outing and tallied four points on the week for the Soaring Eagles. Bradbury recorded 16 total shots in three games and tallied a pair of game-winning goals for the Purple & Gold.
Bradbury kicked off the scoring for Elmira in Friday’s contest against Norwich as her first-period tally at the 15:31 mark gave the Soaring Eagles a 1-0 lead. She would break a 2-2 tie at the 5:15 mark of the third period with a power-play goal that proved to be the eventual game-winning tally for the Soaring Eagles in a 3-2 triumph over the Cadets.
On Saturday against New England College, Bradbury opened the scoring once again for the Soaring Eagles as she found the back of the net just 1:51 into the contest to make it 1-0 in favor of Elmira. The goal would turn into Bradbury’s second-straight game-winner as Elmira shut out NEC 4-0 at the Murray Athletic Center to cap a 2-0 weekend in NEHC action. She also added an assist on Dec. 31 as EC dropped a 6-3 decision against Hamilton College at First Arena.
This is the second weekly accolade for Bradbury after garnering Rookie of the Week honors earlier this season for the Purple & Gold. Elmira forward MK Boyle ’26 also earned the honor for EC on October 31, after netting her first collegiate goal for the Soaring Eagles.
The Soaring Eagles (11-5-0, 10-0-0 NEHC) will put their 10-game NEHC winning streak on the line this weekend with a pair of contests at the Murray Athletic Ice Arena. Elmira hosts Salem State University on Friday at 6:00 P.M. and welcomes the University of Southern Maine on Saturday at 3:00 P.M.
