ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced on Wednesday that they have signed Flint Firebirds forward Coulson Pitre to a three-year NHL entry-level contract. The contract will begin in the 2024-25 season.
Pitre was selected by the Ducks in the third round (65th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. During 2021-22, he was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team after collecting 44 points (23-21-44) in 52 games with the Firebirds. He added nine points (6-3-9) in 16 OHL postseason contests, leading Flint to a decisive Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals and finished second among OHL rookies in postseason goals.
The Stouffville, Ont. native has appeared in 55 regular season games with the Firebirds this season and set a new career-high scoring record with 27 goals along with 28 assists for 55 points. The 6-foot-1, 185lb. forward has also added two goals (2-0-2) in three OHL postseason contests this season.
Originally selected in the fourth round (73rd overall) by the Windsor Spitfires in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Pitre has appeared in 166 games for the Firebirds over the span of three seasons. He has 75 career goals and 84 assists for 159 points, tied for the fourth-most in franchise history. Pitre’s 75 goals are the fifth most in franchise history.
Pitre was named the sixth captain in franchise history on January 10.
