Barrie, ON – The Barrie Colts are happy to announce the signing of 2023 First Round Selection, Shamar Moses.

The 6-foot-1, 212lb right-winger from Scarborough, ON, was selected with the 19th Overall Selection in the OHL Priority Selection and played his U16 season with the Don Mills Flyers program. In 36 games, he recorded 14 goals, 13 assists and 27 points.

“Shamar is a big and strong kid already who is going to be a big piece of our future for the years to come. He’s a player who likes to score and possesses a strong shot. We’re happy to have him and his family join us and we’re excited to start working with him,” commented Head Coach & GM, Marty Williamson.

Moses will be wearing #78 for the 2023-24 season.

OHL Central Scouting says: “Shamar is a big power forward that possesses a very good skill set for a player of his stature. He is a good skater with good speed in open ice which allows him to separate from any back checker. He is a skilled player that is used on the point on the power play. He has a very good and heavy shot with a quick release. He has the ability to take over a game when he decides to and you can’t teach the way he can shoot and score goals.”
