The Clan have recruited several players from their Elite League rivals, including Kevin Massy and Jordan Cownie, but enter the upcoming campaign with a relatively untested tandem between the pipes.

Zach Driscoll will embark on his first full season as a professional this term, building on his impressive three-match run in the ECHL last season. He was a standout netminder in the NCAA, graduating from collegiate hockey with a .917 save percentage through 136 appearances for St. Cloud State, Bemidji State, and the University of North Dakota.

Shawn Boutin isn’t new to the Elite League; his previous teams include the Coventry Blaze and Dundee Stars. He made 44 appearances in Ligue Magnus last season, registering 13 points (five goals, eight assists) for Mullhouse.

Kevin Massy: Formerly of the Nottingham Panthers, Massy is a physically commanding blueliner who has an eye for an assist. He amassed nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 26 appearances for Nottingham last season.

Gergely Tóth is a veteran of Hungary’s Erste Liga despite still being in his mid-20s. He made his professional debut in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since, using his hockey sense to win three championships and become a key player for club and country.

Mitch Jones: Born in Rochester, Michigan, Jones is back for a second season in purple. He was an electric performer on the blueline last term, registering 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) in 45 regular-season games. He will reprise his top-pair role in 2022-23.

He has already made 48 appearances in the professional ranks and will attempt to nail down a place in Glasgow’s line-up this autumn. Gabriel Chabot will play outside North America for the first time in his career this season. He played a middle-six role for the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush last term, notching 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) in his second professional campaign. Before signing his first full-time deal, the Alberta-born skater represented Boston University in the NCAA.
- Coach’s Verdict: “Gabe has great tenacity, skill and a great shot. He’s been around pro hockey for a long time, with his father having played in the NHL as well. We’re pleased to have him and can’t wait to have on our team next season.”

Jordan Cownie returns to Glasgow after six seasons away. He played for the Guildford Flames in 2021-22, notching 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists) in 54 Elite League appearances. He has the makings of a third-line centre for the Clan.

Stephen Dixon: Picked in the seventh round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Dixon is a two-way centre with a reputation for working hard and winning face-offs. He spent three seasons with the Cardiff Devils, hitting 107 points (50 goals, 57 assists) in 154 games. His CV also includes time in the KHL, SHL, and Finland’s Liiga.

Steven McParland: Following three years of dominant play in the Italian League and Alps Hockey League, McParland arrives in the Elite League with a solid reputation as a goal-getter. He starred for Fassa in 2021-22, whacking 63 points (26 goals, 37 assists) in 38 AlpsHL games. Potent.
- Coach’s Verdict: “He has good hands, he’s tough and I saw him fight Dyson Stevenson in centre ice, which was quite the battle plus he can play in any of the three forward positions.”

Craig Peacock’s Elite League record is absurd: 586 games, 186 goals, 237 assists. In other words, he has played at a 0.72 points-per-game clip for the past 14 seasons and remains a savvy playmaker. The Peterborough-born skater returns to Glasgow after two years away.
- Coach’s Verdict: “He was dangerous for them and can see the plays. He also has that good veteran presence in the team as well.”
