Golden Knights HC Bruce Cassidy Provides Update on Injured Forward

by admin

Vegas Golden Knights HC Bruce Cassidy provided an update on injured forward Victor Olofsson.

The 29-year-old winger has been injured since Oct. 15, when he suffered a lower-body injury against the Washington Capitals. Before suffering his injury, Olofsson scored three goals in four games, including a power play marker in the game where he suffered his injury.

Six days after the injury, Olofsson was deemed week-to-week and another five days after that, he was placed on the injured reserve. Olofsson hasn’t skated with the team since he was injured but in today’s media availability, Cassidy claimed that he “turned a corner” in his recovery but won’t accompany the team for their upcoming two-game road trip.

The Golden Knights and Cassidy still are unable to pinpoint an exact return date for the Swedish winger but will likely be able to narrow down possible dates once he hits the ice for individual work and then rejoins the team for practices.

Despite his absence, the Golden Knights have been able to score goals at a high rate. They will of course welcome Olofsson’s skillset with open arms once he’s eligible to return but in the meantime, they’ve enjoyed improved performances from Nicolas Roy, Pavel Dorofeyev, Brett Howden and Ivan Barbashev.

Without Mark Stone and Olofsson tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes, they’ll need top performances from all four of those players.
