The Chicago Blackhawks have the No. 1 pick in Wednesday’s NHL Draft at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and it is presumed that the Nashville Predators’ rivals will select Connor Bedard with the first pick.
Bedard has been widely considered one of the best prospects of the last several seasons. But it’s a deep draft too, where possible franchise cornerstones could be found throughout the first round.
The Preds have two first round picks, at No. 15 and No. 24 overall, and 13 picks overall. It’s a good draft to have a lot of picks, including 7 in the top 100. That could make for a organizational injection of quality prospects, with the possibility that Nashville could trade a pick or two for immediate help without impacting their draft too much.
Chicago will begin the draft after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the stage inside Bridgestone Arena, where the local crowd is likely going to greet them properly. Here’s how you can watch and follow the week’s draft:
