Seattle, WA – The Seattle Kraken opened their six game homestand defeating the Vegas Golden Knights in a thrilling comeback 4-3 overtime win Friday night at Climate Pledge Arena. Breaking the Kraken’s three game losing streak. Friday’s matchup was the first of three meetings between the two clubs and the only meet in Seattle.
The mood in the deep was hopeful going into the first period as news broke of the Kraken acquiring former forward Daniel Sprong from the Vancouver Canucks.

The Knights broke the ice first with a pair of goals from Pavel Dorofeyev and Nicholas Roy, but Brandon Tanev would tie things up with two back to back goals. It would mark his eighth career game with two or more goals.
Oliver Bjorkstrand (who was a healthy scratch in Tuesday’s final game of the road trip) scored the tie breaker in the third period.

With 82 seconds left and Vegas goalie Aiden Hill pulled, defenseman Alex Pietrangelo tied the game with a shot deflected off Adam Larsson’s skate, sending the puck past Joey Daccord and forcing overtime.
Jared McCann’s overtime winner was his second as a Kraken and fourth of his career, tying him for the second-most overtime goals in franchise history, behind Jordan Eberle’s three.
Joey Daccord’s impressive blocking stopped a major breakaway from William Karlsson and earned him the third star of the game. Daccord is now 2-1-0 with a 2.33 GAA, .927 SV% and one shutout in three career appearances against the Golden Knights.

The Kraken return to Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday for its annual Super Skills Showcase and host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
