The Victoriaville Tigres announced on X that their captain, 21-year-old centre Maxime Pellerin, will be attending the Montreal Canadiens rookie camp after receiving an invitation from the team to do so.
Pellerin has been with the Tigres since the 2019-20 season but only received the captaincy ahead of the 2021 campaign. Last year, he recorded 34 goals and 39 assists for a total of 73 points in 67 games.

He continued this impressive display of production in the postseason, recording 13 goals and 21 points in 14 contests. His team made it to the QMJHL semifinal before losing to the Drummondville Voltigeurs in five games.
Born in Sherbrooke, Que., Pellerin stands at six feet, 185 pounds. He was eligible to be drafted into the NHL in 2023 but was not picked up neither was he in his second year of eligibility. He was ranked 197th in the draft class by NHL.com.
