MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) released its end-of-the-year awards on Thursday afternoon with the Elmira College women’s ice hockey program garnering several all-conference selections and major award winners.
Nine different Soaring Eagles received All-NEHC honors, as Elmira placed one player on the 2023 All-NEHC First Team, two on the Second Team, and five on the Third Team. The Purple & Gold also captured NEHC Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team accolades.
Coaches from across the conference elected Emma Bradbury ’26 as the 2023 NEHC Rookie of the Year after the Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia native finished the regular season with nine goals and nine assists for a total of 18 points. A two-time NEHC Rookie of the Week recipient during the season, Bradbury finished 13th in the league in scoring and ninth in goals scored.
Bradbury finished the regular season for the Soaring Eagles with a league-best four game-winning goals, including three straight against Norwich, New England College, and Salem State during the month of January. Her four game-winners currently rank 10th in NCAA DIII this season. Bradbury was also one of six players named to the NEHC All-Rookie Team this season.
Madi Morton ’24 earns her first All-NEHC First Team selection after tallying four goals and 10 assists for a total of 14 points for the Soaring Eagles. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native paced the league’s defenders during the regular season with 14 points and a +27 plus/minus rating. Morton has suited up in all 24 games this season for Elmira while matching a career-high with four goals.
Morgan Mordini ’22 garnered All-NEHC Second Team accolades for a second straight season after leading Elmira in points (27) and goals (12). The North Attleboro, Massachusetts native has already matched her career-best in goals this season through 23 games for the Purple & Gold and leads the team with four power-play goals and a pair of short-handed goals. Mordini ranks fifth in the conference in both goals (12) and points (27) and ranks fourth with four power-play goals.
Jenny Heath ’22 joins Mordini on the All-NEHC Second Team after tallying six goals and seven assists for a total of 13 points this season for the Soaring Eagles. The Pinckney, Michigan native netted three game-winning goals through 24 games this season and notched her first career hat trick in a 5-0 win against Southern Maine. Her 13 points this season rank fourth among defensive players in the conference, while her six goals are the second-most in the NEHC.
Elmira placed five players on the All-NEHC Third team with Leonie-Louise Kuehberger ’25 and Katie Manning ’25 both earning their second All-NEHC accolades after Kuehberger was a Second Team selection last season, while Manning was part of the All-Rookie Team. Mary McCafferty ’22, Claire Meeder ’23, and Lexi Hoffmann ’24 each garnered their first All-NEHC accolades for the Purple & Gold.
Kuehberger completed a second consecutive undefeated regular season in the NEHC between the pipes for Elmira after putting together a 15-0-0 record and seven shutouts. The Hingham, Massachusetts native played in 15 conference games and yielded only six goals while compiling a 0.44 goals-against average and .969 save percentage. Overall, this season, Kuehberger is 17-4-0 with a 1.34 goals-against average and nationally ranked wins in net against Norwich (x2), Nazareth, and Utica.
Manning joins Kuehberger on the Third Team after skating in 24 games for Elmira and setting a career-high with eight assists. The Chicago, Illinois native ranks third in the conference with a +22 plus/minus rating and leads the Soaring Eagles with 15 blocked shots this season. Manning is part of a defensive core for the Purple & Gold that ranks 13th in DIII allowing just 1.54 goals per contest and ranks 5th with nine team shutouts this season.
McCafferty, who returned for a fifth season to skate with the Soaring Eagles, ranks second on the team with 10 goals, 15 assists, and 25 points. The Wall Township, New Jersey native has skated in 24 games this season and is tied for the team lead in power-play goals (4) with Mordini. Earlier this season McCafferty had an 8-game point streak for Elmira that saw her tally 12 points, including a 3-point showing (2G, 1A) against UMass Boston.
Meeder matched a career-best during the regular season with 10 assists and has skated in 24 games after having her 2021-22 season cut short due to an injury. The Woodbury, Minnesota native tallied seven goals and 10 assists for a total of 17 points while ranking 9th in DIII with 275 faceoff wins for the Purple & Gold. Meeder opened the season for Elmira with points in six consecutive games and tallied three points (1G, 2A) in a 3-2 overtime victory against Norwich at home.
Hoffmann has been an integral part of the Soaring Eagles’ defensive core while skating in 24 games for Elmira. The Bellmore, New York native has tallied one goal and four assists for a total of four points to go along with 12 blocked shots and a +18 plus/minus rating. Each of her four points this season has come against NEHC opponents, while her lone goal came on the power play in a road victory against Salem State.
